7 Bands Where 2014 May Be Their Last Year

7. Green Day

Billie Joe Armstrong and Mike Dirnt formed Green Day back in 1987 and they've remained strong over the course of two decades. Whether you can call them punk rock or not is another story; The Clash are probably rolling in their grave at that very notion. However, you have to give it to them, they are one of the main reasons punk rock has come back to the forefront in the United States. Selling over 75 million albums worldwide, they are one of the best-selling groups of all time. But lately Green Day hasn't been around, and we don't know if they are likely to return. After his colossal meltdown at the iHeartRadio festival, Billie Joe Armstrong had to check himself into rehab for his substance abuse. That's been over a year now. None of the members have mentioned a new album and some sources say Billie Joe is still struggling with rehab. The real question of whether or not this band keeps going comes down to their lead singer and songwriter - can he get past this rehab and more importantly when he does, can he stay clean?
