7. He Tried To Warn Us Of A Coming Apocalypse
Forget Ziggy Stardust descending to Earth from space, according to one of the more recent Bowie conspiracy theories, his single Blackstar from his final album of the same name is actually a coded message telling us that something a lot worse is coming. Specifically, there are a select group of people who believe that Bowie's song foretells the coming of Planet X or Nibiru, a huge planetary object that is supposed to crash into Earth during the early twenty-first century and will trigger humanity's apocalypse. The theory goes on to detail that Bowie was supposedly contacted by the Illumanti before writing the song, who requested he warn us all of the coming disaster (and I thought the Illuminati were the bad guys?). References to a black star throughout the lyrics as well as the day of execution and an angel falling are more than enough proof, apparently. Couple that the various occult symbols and images in the music video and theorists have more than enough material to fear monger with.
