Dave Van Ronk (an active performer from 1959 until his death in 2002) had a highly experimental style, often merging multiple musical genres into a unique sound with folk roots, oftentimes utilizing ragtime sounds as well. There has been considerably more attention given him in recent days, especially from the Coen brothers who will be making a film loosely based on his memoirs, titled Inside Llewyn Davis. We at WhatCulture are eagerly looking forward to this movie and expect great things from it.
