6. Candlebox
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CeaZGj-rL-M There was a time in music history when Seattle, Washington could do no wrong. Bands like Nirvana, Soundgarden, and Pearl Jam were all the rage, making "grunge" music both a critical and financial success. All heads were turned towards the city to see the next band that would emerge with the Midas touch, and then came Candlebox. Their single, Far Behind, earned the dubious honor of being "that one grunge song your parents like." Any other fan of the song below the age of forty would later go on to claim a temporary lapse of sanity. The band broke up in 2000 without much fanfare or a written apology from the city of Seattle. The only attention Candlebox would receive was raised eyebrows in record stores when noting exactly how many copies of their debut album were relegated to the dollar bin. For years, Candlebox would be regarded as the one extinct creature on the planet that nobody missed. That is until the band reformed in 2006 to support a greatest hits album nobody had been clamoring for. Fast forward to 2012, Candlebox released two full length albums that even your parents ignored, thus proving that with old age does come wisdom. Unapologetically ignorant to the lack of interest, Candlebox plans another album release in spring 2014.
