7. This Is Yesterday
For an album like 1994s The Holy Bible that contains so many complex themes and historical contexts to unravel, it is a beautiful respite to arrive at This Is Yesterday. Set towards the end of the record, the track itself is about people looking back at the past with fondness and the nihilism this creates. The future is always bleak and somehow the past, regardless of the truth, holds a mystique that is far more alluring than what is ahead.
