6. Faster
Faster was released on a double A-side with P.C.P. as the lead single from The Holy Bible. The track itself is fronted with the quote; I hate purity. Hate goodness. I dont want virtue to exist anywhere. I want everyone corrupt taken from the film version of 1984 starring John Hurt. While the album was not a huge commercial success the single helped the band gain national attention thanks to a Top Of The Pops performance that resulted in a record number of complaints (over 25,000). The band performed in military regalia and singer James Dean Bradfield wore a balaclava causing a public outcry because the band seemed to be showing support for the IRA.
