1. Some Kind Of Nothingness
Again the chart position does not reflect the quality of the song. Featuring Echo & the Bunnymen singer Ian McCulloch, Some Kind of Nothingness charted at 44. As with most of the tracks on Postcards from a Young Man the focus of the song is nostalgic which is reflected in the video where James Dean Bradfield walks his hometown streets of Cardiff. On the face this is not a good choice for a single as it is a track that needs a few listens to be fully appreciated however it is an excellent example of how special this later-era version of the band is even when most of the makeup and glitter has been put away.
