8 British Artists You Really Should Listen To

1. Dave McPherson

davemcpFavourite track: Before I Even Had You Known to some as the lead singer of rock band InMe, Dave Mcpherson uses the time when the band takes a break to focus on his solo acoustic career. Having released two albums so far (with his newest, Dreamoirs, coming out just recently), McPherson's acoustic career is juts taking off. A strong advocate of crowdfunding, I believe there is currently no other artist who gives more to their fans than Dave McPherson. His second album was released solely thanks to the fans contributions on PledgeMusic and he constantly offers fans fantastic rewards for helping him out. In January, McPherson announced that he planned on releasing 365 new sings in 2013 - one for each day of the year. At the time of writing this, at the beginning of June, there have been no signs of his promise being broken and with each song being completely different, it truly is a fantastic achievement. Dave McPherson is a man who gets to live out his dream of performing music because the fans constantly support him. The fact that he gives so much back to those who love his music is the reason you really should check him out. Have a non-British artist that you believe deserves some attention? Or did you enjoy any of my choices? I'd genuinely love to hear from you in the comments below.

In my free time, I can usually be found in my darkened living room, playing video games or watching movies. I tend to work a lot of night shifts so my out-of-whack body clock is built for such hobbies. Feel free to drop me a tweet at @callummcewan.
