8 Creepiest Songs About Real-Life Serial Killers

8. Ozzy Osbourne - Bloodbath In Paradise (Charles Manson)

You're comin' home, there's blood on the walls/When Charlie and the family make house calls/If you're alone then watch what you do/Cause Charlie and the family might get you/Can you hear them in the darkness?/Helter skelter, spiral madness
It isn't surprising that the serial killer most frequently explored in rock and metal songs is Charles Manson, given the iconic status that the Manson Family's murders retain in the USA despite happening over 45 years ago. Any number of songs about the infamously alluring cult leader could have been included here, but Ozzy Osbourne's 1988 cut Bloodbath In Paradise gets the nod because it's dark, it rocks and... Well... It's Ozzy! Lyrically it's definitely one of the less "complex" studies of a serial killer's mentality than some of the others on the list, but simple lines like "you're comin' home, there's blood on the walls" are brilliantly straightforward in their evocation of the infamous crime scene photographs of the Manson family murders. There's also a neat reference to The Beatles' Helter Skelter, the song that reportedly inspired Manson's warped worldview. On top of everything else, the song features a creepy intro featuring chimes and moans, and Zakk Wylde's guitar solo is typically awesome. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=50jw48zVCWk
