That's right, Prometheus€™s android with an ego had a little bit of Bowie in him. David played by Michael Fassbender of X-Men: First Class fame had a character arc that mainly consisted of making decisions that ruin everything and eventually being decapitated.

Fassbender admitted to basing his performance of the android on, among other things, David Bowie. Wanting his character to have less of a human element than the robots in Alien and Blade Runner, Fassbender sought inspiration from Bowie€™s film The Man Who Fell to Earth for a more analytical, emotionless take while still maintaining humanlike aspects of the character.

Aside from the performance aspect, Fassbender and the filmmakers took inspiration from Bowie€™s look for David, making him blonde and giving him an almost feminine quality €“ though I must have missed the scene where David wore sparkly platform shoes.
