8 Fictional Characters Inspired By David Bowie

5. Castor/Zuse - TRON: Legacy

Michael Sheen€™s Castor (also known as Zuse) is a character with a Bowie influence so obvious it hits you in the face. In Tron: Legacy Castor started out as a cool guy who owned the End of the Line club which presumably played exclusively Daft Punk songs. Eventually, he was revealed to be a manipulative villain who betrays the main character which, of course, means his awesome night club and he himself must be exploded.

Castor, in both looks and attitude, was inspired by Bowie€™s shape-shifting nature. Sheen says his inspiration for the character was €œA sort of albino Ziggy Stardust.€ Just as David Bowie stood out in nearly every situation, Castor too stands out in the very dark world of TRON with his uniquely bright aesthetic.

Castor's constant reinvention and reflection of the world around him was also inspired by Bowie's ever transformative style of both music and dress. Pity he couldn€™t have transformed TRON: Legacy into a more interesting movie.
