8 Hated 2013 Pop Songs That Totally Deserve A Second Listen

5. Will.i.am & Miley Cyrus -'Fall Down'

2013hatedsongs Will I Am When two pop juggernauts collide on one song, it's either going to be the next biggest thing for months to come, or it's going to sink very quickly. Unfortunately, one of will.i.am's stronger efforts 'Fall Down' with a pre-controversy Miley Cyrus actually was a good song misjudged by the public and critics at large for its two divisive artists. Will.i.am is nothing if not dedicated to his work and his album '#willpower' was both a statement of his as a solo artist and producer and a showcase of the best of the talent out there with Britney Spears, Eva Simons and Justin Bieber all popping up. Will.i.am earns a lot of ire from pop fans for his production, which while always slick and sleek, does sound very similar when placed back-to-back; however, 'Fall Down' has the help of pop maestros Dr Luke, Benny Blanco and Cirkut who are the go-to guys for electropop at its finest, at its helm and which makes it strongly stand out from the crowd. Perhaps most of the backlash came due to Miley €“ who at that time was just about venturing into her more adult phase of music €“ who was just turning into a more divisive cultural figure with her drug taking exploits. Musically, however, Miley's vocals are great on the record, and the pop production serves her well. Point in fact, if more songs on Miley's own 'Bangerz' had been similar to 'Fall Down', the album might have had both a better overall reception and a more appropriate title. 'Fall Down' is in the end, a club song about love and infatuation, which while not original, is nonetheless an effective four minute exercise in getting your body moving in the right direction. 'Fall Down' is joyous, hummable and irrepressibly cheesy, none of which make it a bad song whatsoever. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dFGIn9bi-Vw
