8 Incredible Albums You Missed In 2018

6. Unknown Mortal Orchestra - Sex & Food

It takes a certain level of confidence for a band to reinvent themselves with every new record and without the fear of alienating the fans that they pick up along the way. Yet Unknown Mortal Orchestra keep on doing that and everyone seems to be on board with it. Sex and Food carries on that tradition and it's certainly the most impressive album they've made to date.

Ruban Nielsen, the mastermind behind the Australian trio, has crafted an album that feels like he's taken all of his favourite genres, put them in a pot and stirred them all together until it was just perfect.

The album sounds beautifully futuristic at some points, especially when the keyboard synths and filters are used on Nielsen's vocals. Yet there's a still a heavy 70s funk influence that envelopes the entire album makIng it a really unpredictable, yet enjoyable experience.
