8 Maniacal Musicians Who Exemplified The Word Rockstar

7. Axl Rose

One of the most unpredictable frontmen music has ever seen and another star notorious for inciting riots amongst music fans is former Guns N' Roses frontman Axl Rose. Counted amongst the greatest singers in rock history, Rose is also, to put it mildly, a bit of a lunatic.

One could be forgiven for thinking Rose really does not like his fans; the Welcome To The Jungle vocalist has caused multiple riots, resulting in trashed arenas and police intervention to restore order.

Whether the singer is storming off stage halfway through the performance or giving fans concussion after seemingly confusing his microphone with some type of musical boomerang, being an Axl Rose fan is a dangerous business.

The Guns N' Roses classic Right Next Door To Hell was inspired by an incident that saw Rose wallop his next door neighbor with a wine bottle and he has been involved in multiple further physical altercations with fans and police officers over the years.

If you thought that getting older might have mellowed the musician out a little bit, look no further than an incident that saw Axl settle out of court after biting a security guard's leg following an inebriated dispute in a hotel lobby. He was 44.

The vocalist's fractious personality was reputed to have been a key factor in the band's eventual demise over creative and personal differences but he has subsequently reunited with the group's classic lineup and even toured with AC/DC in 2016.

An unhinged human being, but an electrifying rockstar.
