2. Morrissey
Smiths frontman Morrissey is well known for his outspoken views on various issues including animal rights, opposition to the Royal Family, and his desire to punch comedian Vic Reeves. While practically every musician has a view that theyll attempt to put across and pretty much every cause (apart from opposition to drug use) has a musicians backing, most of them dont make themselves look like insensitive morons in the process as Morrissey did in 2011. On the 22nd of July 2011, there were two sequential terrorist attacks in Oslo that had a death toll of seventy-seven. It was a horrific tragedy that united the nation in grief and shocked the world. Then a week later, Morrissey was performing in Warsaw and stated to the crowd there that the attack was "nothing compared to what happens in McDonald's and Kentucky Fried sh*t every day. While standing up for your beliefs is a respectable and admirable thing to do, claiming that the murder of seventy-seven innocent people is in any way less heinous than the slaughter of livestock for human consumption, something that has been a part of agriculture and human life for millions of years, is colossally insensitive and will only serve you make you look like a complete prat. Then again, this kind of verbal diarrhoea is normal for Morrissey who has equated killing a stag to killing a child, and once called the Chinese a subspecies because of the countrys treatment of animals.
