You don’t earn the moniker “shock rocker” without doing some unsavory acts and Marilyn Manson’s stage shows certainly helped justify the nickname. The “Antichrist Superstar” has been arrested multiple times for sexual misconduct after taking his schtick a little too far at his concerts.

In 1994, Manson was hauled into custody in Jacksonville, Florida for violating the city’s Adult Entertainment Code. According to the singer’s autobiography, The Long Hard Road Out of Hell, the performance in question involved “jacking off with a strap-on dildo” and “urinating on the crowd,” though the official police report was unclear as to whether or not Manson was actually nude, and mentions nothing about urination.

Several years later, Manson was hit with a civil suit for criminal sexual conduct after allegedly approaching a security guard from behind, wrapping his legs around him, and gyrating his genitals on him - or, as Manson describes it, “having sex with a man’s head.”

The prosecutor’s argument in the case was a sound one, saying “It’s one thing to shock the audience by some kind of behavior, it’s another to involve an unwilling participant who was there to protect him.” Manson ended up paying a $4,000 fine and settling the lawsuit out of court.
