Plasmatics

Jim Morrison may have popularized lewd stage antics, but Wendy O. Williams, lead singer for the punk rock band the Plasmatics, took them to extreme new heights. Williams used her experience as a live sex show performer and one-time adult film star to bring some extra titillation to the band’s stage shows.

As the Plasmatics began to earn a reputation for their outrageous and overtly sexual performances, law enforcement felt they had to get involved and sent undercover officers to a Milwaukee concert to scope it out.

During this particular performance, Williams simulated sex acts with a sledgehammer while wearing her usual lack of clothing, causing her to be arrested for obscene conduct, a charge which then blossomed into resisting arrest and battery to a police officer.

Not to be deterred, Williams continued doing her thing in shows across the country, once again being arrested, this time for indecent exposure after the whipped cream covering her breasts had dissolved, revealing only small pieces of electrical tape covering her nipples. The charges for both incidents were eventually dropped.
