8 Musicians With Bizarre (And Fascinating) Alter Egos

7. My Chemical Romance Go Dystopian

For the release of 2010's Danger Days: The True Lives Of The Fabulous Killjoys, My Chemical Romance cooked up a whole comic book aesthetic, complete with a post-apocalyptic, dystopian world, individual character names (Party Poison, Jet Star, Fun Ghoul and Kobra Kid) and pretty bad-ass biker costumes. But all of this was created and released under the My Chemical Romance name, so it hardly counts as an alter ego. What many fans don't know about, however, is that the band quietly slipped out an EP by a fictional band that existed in the world they created for Danger Days. The band was called The Mad Gear And Missile Kid and the EP carried the same name. The Mad Gear And Missile Kid's sound was much rawer and more punk than the kind of stuff My Chemical Romance released on Danger Days, and the lyrics were relevant to the dystopian world in which the music was supposedly being created. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=w-0cR1tsvfA
