8 Rock Bands With Only One Member

7. Panic At the Disco

During the mid '00s, you would have to be doing something really special if you wanted to stand out in the emo scene. If you even had a prayer of getting on the radio (or someone's MySpace page), you were better off caking on the eyeliner and making some overdramatic diatribe about how much darkness was in your soul. Even though it was goofy in the beginning, Panic at the Disco found their way to stand out in the crowd.

That is, the old version of Panic. As time has gone on, the Panic that we know today has taken a drastic left turn, which all comes back to the genius of Brendon Urie. Although Urie's initial collaborations with Ryan Ross on albums like Pretty Odd were cool for what they were, the sudden fracturing after that record has led to the band going in a more pop direction on subsequent albums. Hell, by the time we got to Death of a Bachelor in 2016, Urie was the only original member left, playing nearly everything on the record and coming through with one of the greatest slices of pop rock of the modern age.

Even up until the present day, Urie is still finding ways to push his sound forward, trying to pull from musical theater to make his artistic vision broader in scope. Although the era of elaborate costumes are gone, the Brendon Urie Show is still more than worth the price of admission.
