8 Underrated Albums From Your Favorite Artists

6. Panic At The Disco - Pretty. Odd. (2007)

Panic at the Disco were already everyone's favorite emo band by the time they got to Pretty. Odd. By this time, every teenager could sing along to I Write Sins Not Tragedies and know exactly what you should do with that goddamn door. But this album was miles different.

The success of that song and album gave the band more freedom to experiment on this record, which principal songwriter Ryan Ross pounced on. He took this opportunity to make a record that was much more folksy and pulled from the Beatles' guide to writing songs. To say that this was a bit different is a tremendous understatement. But there's also something else of note: the songwriting is terrific.

This record is what Crosby Stills and Nash would sound like if they were born as millennials and had Paul McCartney writing their melodies. There are grandiose ballads on songs like Northern Downpour, peppy numbers like That Green Gentleman and full-on country tunes on Brendon Urie's solo cut Folkin Around.

These changes may have seemed like a turn-off for some fans at first, but this is the definition of an album that grows on you. With each listen, you can discover one more thing that is different. Emo boys and girls, be not afraid. This change in sound is more than just passable.
