8 Albums That Prove 2014 Is The Comeback Year For Punk Rock

2. Mad Caddies - "Dirty Rice"

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WdODGz4Q9NI The least "punk" band on this list, but far from un-admirable, ska-band Mad Caddies will release their highly anticipated sixth album, "Dirty Rice" on May 13, 2014. The last time we have heard a new song was only in 2010 on a greatest hits compilation, but now we are finally going to hear a whole new album of songs. A Fat Wreck Chords band their entire career, Mad Caddies have changed up their sounds album-to-album, beginning with a reggae ska sound, going into a more strict punk sound ("Rock the Plank"), and more recently a swing-revival sound. But through these changed, they have maintained their ska-punk roots. Seven years since their last proper album, Mad Caddies released the first track from "Dirty Rice" online for streaming, which proves this new album is no exception. With the Mad Caddies' mix of straight-up punk rock with ska, ragtime, and swing, they have created their own blend of ska-punk that have had fans dying for a new album for years, and they will finally get a chance to hear one in the middle of the year.
