8 Albums That Prove 2014 Is The Comeback Year For Punk Rock

4. Pulley

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=N6dmybW4gAk It has been ten years since Pulley's last full-length album, but the band recently announced that are currently writing, and plan on recording and releasing a new album before the year's end. The Epitaph Records alumna however have stated this several times throughout the past few years, so there is a strong possibility of this not happening, but in the interview with Bird Attack Radio, drummer Chris Dalley sounded sure of it. Since their last full length, 2004's "Matters," Pulley have only released two EPs (which they had self-released through their X-Members label), amongst these promises of a new full-length. Fronted by former Major League Baseball relief pitcher Scott Radinsky, Pulley are known for that west-coast melodic hardcore/punk rock sound along the vein of Strung Out, who they've grown up sharing the stage with, as well as sharing mutual side-bands with (i.e. Implants). If this new album becomes a reality, fans are sure to accept it no matter how it sounds (though, from what we have heard throughout the years, the band has never really changed their sound or image). If anything, fans will be glad to hear Radinsky's voice once again.

3. Bracket - "Hold Your Applause"

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Xtn-po9XHBo A band known primarily for their song "2RAK005" (and Fat Wreck Chords alumna), Bracket don't plan on releasing one album in 2014, but two completely self-financed and self-released full-lengths! Disappearing from music sometime after the diverse 2006 album "Requiem" (Takeover Records), Bracket popped back up on social networking sites with news of new music in 2012. Finally, two years later, the band announced on their official Facebook page that they have finished recording 16 tracks for the first of these planned two new albums. Not long after, Bracket revealed the tracklisting - including the 27th part of their "Warren" song series - and that the album is almost finished with the mixing stage. To fund the recording, Bracket posted a series of digital compilation albums on their Bandcamp page, titled "Rare Cuts," that are comprised of rare and unreleased recordings such as demos, album bonus tracks, live cuts, and more. Bracket promises that this new album is not just "16 versions of 2RAK005," but a variety of songs, much like "Requiem." No official release date has been set yet, but the fact that a brand new Bracket album is almost here is all that matters.
