9 Albums To Play When Doing Creative Work

5. Blue Man Group €“ Audio

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DuP0K8Mk9CY Most people might be familiar with Blue Man Group from their stage shows, which are currently in five U.S. cities, plus Berlin and on the Norwegian Cruise Line. They€™ve also had a few stage appearances in other places, to include the U.K., Canada, the Netherlands, Switzerland, Sweden, Austria, and Japan. They€™ve also conducted several concert tours in support of their second album, 2003€™s The Complex, which features guest vocalists. But it€™s their 1999 recording titled simply Audio, which is a recording of their instrumental works, that qualifies here. The amazing thing about it is that most of the group€™s percussive instruments are made from materials that aren€™t normally considered musical: PVC pipes, metal plates, hand saws, dumpsters, and the like; coupled with standard musical instruments such as electric guitars and traditional drums. The result is surprisingly coherent and pleasing to the ear. Some of the tracks might be a little hard-edged, but Synaesthetic, Rods And Cones, Mandelgroove and PVC IV are all soothing tracks to facilitate heavy thinking and concentration.
