3. Vangelis: Themes
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CSav51fVlKU Evangelos Odysseas Papathanassiou, a.k.a. Vangelis, is probably most famous for his Oscar-winning score for the film Chariots of Fire. Hes also scored several other films, notably Blade Runner, 1492: Conquest of Paradise, The Bounty, Missing, Alexander and several nature documentaries, plus the Carl Sagan series Cosmos. The 1989 compilation Themes was significant to fans of the artist because it was the first official release of music from Blade Runner, The Bounty and Missing. It also included the ubiquitous theme from Chariots, along with several other songs. This is another album worth listening to in its entirety. Some tracks are simple, like Missing and Hymm; some are international in flavor, like Chung Ko and The Tao Of Love; some are haunting, like Memories of Green and La Petite Fille de la Mer; and some are majestic, like Antartica and Closing Titles from the Bounty. Another album for heavy thinking and concentration. Other contenders: Kitaro Ten Years; Matsuriza Matsuri Daiko
