9 Bands You Used To Love (But Can No Longer Listen To)

Now hold on, I know what you're thinking €“ that I'm about to go on a big rant about how it became impossible to listen to Green Day after American Idiot because of how commercial and mainstream it was. In actual fact, though, no €“ American Idiot was a fantastic album, filled with some of the most compelling and enjoyable stadium anthems ever written by a rock band.

The reason why many fans can now no longer listen to Green Day is because, well...they haven't written anything of note in over ten years. Seriously, American Idiot was released in 2004. Since then there's been 2009's 21st Century Breakdown, and 2012's three records Uno, Dos and Tre. The situation in 2012 basically sums up Green Day's present situation: with no clear drive or vision they decided to throw three albums at the wall to see if anything stuck. Sadly, it didn't.

Of course, it would be entirely possible to go back and listen to American Idiot and all the great stuff before it, but even those who used to adore the band have largely forgotten about their existence. With nothing relevant released in over a decade, it's not a case of not wanting to hear the band any more...it's a case of there genuinely being nothing worth listening to.
