9 Fascinating Studio Accidents That Made It Into Famous Songs

8. Metallica €“- Master Of Puppets

One of heavy metal band Metallica's most celebrated songs, Master Of Puppets comes from an album of the same name, released in 1986. What's interesting about this studio accident is that guitarist Kirk Hammett has tried to replicate it since and failed. During the song's main solo, it sounds as if Hammett is playing an incredibly high note at the very beginning.

In reality, however, Hammett accidentally pulled the string off the guitar's fretboard, creating a strangely awesome sound. Hammett was convinced that he had ruined the take, but when the band listened back to the recording, they thought it was great and decided to keep it in the song. According to Kirk in 2012, he has totally failed to replicate the sound in the twenty-five years since the song was first recorded.
