9 Fascinating Studio Accidents That Made It Into Famous Songs

4. The Who €“ Happy Jack

Happy Jack was released as a standalone single by The Who in 1966. The song went on to become their first top forty hit in the United States, and is supposedly about a man who sleeps on the beach and is frequently laughed at by children. At the very end of the song it's possible to hear Pete Townshend say €œI saw you€, something that was never meant for inclusion.

Townshend was actually talking to drummer Keith Moon, who had apparently been banned from entering the recording studio while the band were laying down vocals. Nevertheless, Moon sneaked into the studio, and was only spotted by Townshend at the very end of recording, prompting the iconic outburst.
