9 Great Closing Tracks On Albums

7. All Apologies - In Utero [Nirvana]

With In Utero being Nirvana's final artistic gasp, Kurt Cobain created an album that is an unbridled mess and a flawless masterpiece at the same time.

There are certain songs on this record where things get extremely uncomfortable and makes the listener feel a bit on edge. But other moments on the record feature amazing hints of beauty, with "All Apologies" being the best of them.

The melody almost sounds like a long lost Beatles song, just channeled through the heroin-fueled haze of Cobain's battered brain. It's almost as if Kurt knew how catchy this was, but wanted to downplay it so he wouldn't come off as a pampered rich rock star.

The world may not have known that this would be the last record from Nirvana at the time, but this last bit of creative beauty shows you how much of a genius Kurt Cobain was and what he could have made with Nirvana down the line had he not died so young.
