9 Living Musicians Who Literally Came Back After Death

5. Phil Anselmo - Pantera

"I died and came back to life." That's the quote that the Pantera frontman should have on his tombstone if he ever loses his apparent immortality. That way, everyone who visits his gravesite will be forced to wonder, if for only a moment, whether Anselmo is really dead or if he's just lying in wait, six feet under. After a show in Dallas, Anselmo hit the drug table hard, diligently sampling the heroin buffet. He overdosed, naturally, and according to a press release sent out a few days later "died for four to five minutes." FOUR TO FIVE MINUTES. That's 240-300 seconds of nothingness. No heartbeat, no pulse, and likely no brain activity. How Phil Anselmo was able to be revived after that--without any severe, lasting effects to his nervous system or body--is insane. More insane? Pantera didn't stop the tour. Anselmo didn't cancel a single show.
