9 Living Musicians Who Literally Came Back After Death

2. Taylor Hawkins - Foo Fighters

The glamorous side of rock n roll may have hit a significant decline in the 90s, when the grunge ethos overtook the glam rock notions of excess, but that doesn't mean they were entirely gone. Enter Taylor Hawkins: drummer for Foo Fighters and heir to the throne of the classic sex, drugs, and rock n roll lifestyle. The other members of Foo Fighters are pretty straight-laced when it comes to partying. Booze? Absolutely. Tobacco? Sometimes. Weed? Probably. Anything beyond that isn't really on their radar. But Hawkins apparently wanted to make up for his bandmates' lack of dedication to overindulgence. But in 2001, the drummer went too far, overdosing on heroin and sending him directly into a two-week coma.
"Thank God I did take it too far, and I didn't fuckin' croak, and I'm here to know how retarded I was and how lame my life had become. I was just becoming a clichéd rock idiot. But I wouldn't take any of it away--none of the times I got high, not even the overdose. Because I learned so much about myself through the whole thing."
He may not want to change anything about those circumstances, but chances are bandmate Dave Grohl would beg to differ. Being the good bud he is, Dave barely left his side while he was in the hospital. Reportedly, when Hawkins finally awoke, he was greeted to a groggy "f*ck you" from his friend.
