9 Most Annoying Voices In Music History

1. Scott Stapp

Targeting Creed for their many...let's call them "quirks"...is like shooting fish in a barrel, if those fish habitually likened themselves to Jesus Christ and the barrel is made primarily from the grunge era's leftovers. So instead, let's focus on just the one that's most pertinent: Scott Stapp's insufferable voice. A curious blend of Eddie Vedder's mumbling, James Hetfield's vocal tics, and a sturdy bout of constipation, Stapp had the uncanny ability to demolish anything that may have resembled a great song. His bandmates couldn't have been happy to hear their respectable, occasionally brilliant instrumentation beaten to a pulp by Stapp's baritone grunting and unbearable bombast. Don't get me wrong, the guy was capable of scream-singing with the best of them, and I wouldn't suggest that he didn't at least possess the aptitude to be a good rock vocalist, but at least 90 percent of the time he was infuriatingly angsty and sludgy at the same time. So you could tell he was pained, but no one could figure out why the f--k that was because no one could understand a word he was singing! Which other terrible singers belong on this list?
