9 Times The Grammy Awards Chose Its Metal Poorly

7. 1994: Ozzy Osbourne- I Don't Want To Change The World (Live)

Speaking of seminal albums getting ignored, Ozzy Osbourne’s “No More Tears” was not among the nominees at the 1992 awards, though it could have easily replaced Anthrax’s “Attack of the Killer B’s” compilation or Soundgarden’s “Badmotorfinger.”

That fact on its own would be less bothersome if Ozzy had not taken home the statue two years later for a live version of that same album’s worst song. If the title track or “Mama, I’m Coming Home” were not going to be nominated for the sake of greater relevance, than why not pick a better and/or more recognizable track like “Crazy Train,” “Desire” or “Miracle Man?” The song was even nominated over the album’s lone single “Changes.”

Any of the other nominees would have been more suited to win this time around, though I would have put White Zombie’s “Thunder Kiss ‘65” over.
