You could play a game out of listing all the artists who have had a hit song called Stay. From Maurice Williams to Shakespears Sister, from Lisa Loeb to Rihanna, that simple verb has been one of the most featured titles atop the charts. Never seems to make for a bad song either.

In this case, Stay is a smash collaboration between The Kid Laroi, one of the breakout stars of the year, and Justin Bieber, one of the breakout stars of eleven years ago, who then became one of the biggest stars, period. When you first listen to this song, you get the sense that you've heard it before, but it matters not, because you still enjoy it from the moment that beat kicks in.

The two artists' vocals blend seamlessly, which might harm them more than help - without the video, it's hard to tell who sings what. The song is also too short and could have benefitted from another repeat of the chorus at the end. But it's still one of the catchiest pop tunes of the year.
