Alter Bridge: 10 Awesome Facts Hardly ANYONE Knows
1. Myles Kennedy And Mark Wahlberg Were In A Film Together
Many rock stars have wound up in Hollywood, but Myles Kennedy was one of the few who did it rather quietly.
While recording the first Mayfield Four album, producer Brendan O’Brien mentioned an upcoming movie that needed an actual singer to play one of its roles. Kennedy and O'Brien, who knew some of the casting big wigs, discussed throwing his name in the hat for the role to see what happened.
To Kennedy's surprise, he ended up getting a role in the film called Rock Star, alongside Mark Wahlberg.
Nervous at first, the frontman was relieved to find out his role required very little acting. Although he may not have had to deliver too many serious lines, he was the only performer actually singing in the movie. In multiple interviews, Kennedy confessed to having fun recording, especially when producers tried to convince Wahlberg they were switching out one of the songs for "Good Vibrations."
Unfortunately, the joy from Rock Star dwindled once the ratings came in, as critics and fans alike had very few kind words to spare. Nevertheless, the singer fondly recalls the endeavor, although he doesn't really bring up his acting career unless asked.
