Alter Bridge: 10 Hidden Song Details You Never Noticed

2. Walk The Sky's Synth Addition

With every album the band produce, they try to evolve and to do something a little different from what has come before it. This stops the band's music from becoming stale and uninspired, makes every album different, and keeps things fresh for both the fans and the musicians themselves.

One of the biggest changes for the band with Walk the Sky was the addition of the synth on a few songs. For the likes of Godspeed and Pay No Mind, Mark Tremonti took heavy inspiration from John Carpenter to bring those sounds into Alter Bridge's style, and it worked better than anyone could have imagined.

In terms of playing the song live, the band didn't want to put anything on a loop to play over the top of them through the PA system. If they could do it live they should do it live. The man brought out to play the keyboard in the live shows is Mark's guitar tech, and the actual instrument he plays belongs to AB drummer, Scott Phillips.
