Alter Bridge: 10 Toughest Tremonti Solos NO ONE Else Can Play

1. Ahavo Rabo Taco Salad

Many people may not know that this song even existed. It doesn't feature on any of their albums, and nor is it listed on the band's official discography. But a bona fide Alter Bridge song it is, and it just happens to include one of the most mind-boggling Tremonti solos his career has ever seen.

Named for the Phrygian dominant mode (also called the Ahavo Rabo mode) that the main riff is based around, the instrumental 'Ahavo Rabo Taco Salad' was recorded in 2005 exclusively for Total Guitar magazine. As you'd imagine, then, it's extremely guitar-centric, and you don't have to wait long at all for the solo to come bursting in.

This one takes you completely by surprise, both with its virtuosity and its sheer presence in the recording. Not only that, but it lasts for virtually the entire song, going through anthemic lead sections, harsh squeals, chugging flourishes and wah-wah'ing countermelodies.

It's clear that, as far as Mark Tremonti's Alter Bridge soloing goes, this piece is hands-down the winner. And unless you've been blessed with the Pick of Destiny, this is one song you'll NEVER be able to play.
