First coming on board for the recording of the phenomenal sophomore effort, Blackbird, there was a definitive sense of maturation and confidence that permeated every second of that album. Elvis has mentioned in many interviews and behind the scenes docs that he doesn't mind taking the time to perfect a guitar tone (it was something that immediately made Slash's last album, World on Fire, absolutely pop with character as well), and considering how Tremonti is a learned beast when it comes to dialling in his own exquisitely heavy sound, it's always a match made in heaven. Aside from figures like Rick Rubin who cross over into the general media spotlight, rarely do people take the time to praise the producing talent that reigns a band together into a well-oiled machine, and there's quite simply no one better to catapult AB even further into the realms of success than Mr. Baskette himself.
