Alter Bridge: Mark Tremonti's 14 Best Guitar Riffs

10. Couer D'Alene

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qXzxGll5Xdk Written about a lake near to where Myles Kennedy grew up, this is one of those always-enjoyable tracks where you hear a toned-down version of the upcoming riff in the distance, only for it to kick in big style shortly after. AB III would introduce some of the most off-kilter and defining aspects of Tremonti's playing such as an increase in throwing slides into his compositions, and with Couer d'Alene it's a great chord-manipulating riff that combines a weighty three-note descending pattern with some occasionally open strings to really bring it to life - connoting the vigorous nostalgia associated with any positive childhood memory.
