https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AyB1CNAsRjk When fans learned that Mark Tremonti was going to be taking up lead vocals for an entire song, it was cause for major celebration. We'd previously heard his powerful pipes on AB III cut Words Darker Than Their Wings (a really,
really great track) but for Waters Rising he totally brought his A-game. The intro fingerpicked piece is actually played by Myles in a change-up of styles, as we're used to seeing such lightly themed sections be a Tremonti signature. As soon as that's laid a suitable groundwork it's over to Mark to set up one hell of a crushing riff that reminds us of the contrasting light/heavy dynamic the band do so insanely well.
