Alter Bridge - Walk The Sky: Every Song Ranked From Worst To Best
1. Wouldn't You Rather
This is Walk The Sky's anthem, it's equivalent to ABIII's Isolation, or Fortress' Addicted to Pain, and there is a reason it was chosen as the first single. To generate buzz and excitement around a new album, why wouldn't you release the best you have to offer?
When you consider the complete polar opposite styles of both Mark Tremonti and Myles Kennedy's solo material, you would be forgiven for automatically thinking a song like Wouldn't You Rather came from the former, but it is actually the work of the lead singer. This came as the result of Kennedy taking his frustration out on his guitar and coming up with what he has call 'a pissed off riff'.
Despite the anger that was the inspiration for the song, the lyrics revolve around living your life in the moment, and making it worth living. For an album that deals with a lot of dark and depressing feelings and issues, Wouldn't You Rather takes the time to see the other side of the coin.
