Alter Bridge - Walk The Sky: Every Song Ranked From Worst To Best
13. Godspeed
As Godspeed begins, you would be forgiven for thinking something went horribly wrong and you weren't listening to Alter Bridge any more. Instead, you feel as though you're about to have a coffee and some cherry pie in Twin Peaks.
The band get experimental with the fourth track on the album, mixing the uncharacteristic synth intro with the more familiar guitar and vocal style, before a solo at the end of the song that would feel at home on Def Leppard's Hysteria. It is a testament to the band that they can try their hand with such a different style, yet still produce a strong track.
The reason Godspeed falls so low on the list is simply due to the quality of the songs around it, and the fact that out of all of them, this is probably the furthest from the usual Alter Bridge we know and love.
