Alter Bridge - Walk The Sky: Every Song Ranked From Worst To Best
12. Tear Us Apart
Godspeed isn't the only track on this album that deviates from the typical Alter Bridge sound. While Tear Us Apart is able to maintain the band's trademark riff heavy sound, there is almost a pop rock feel woven between the traditional elements of the band.
This is something that Mark Tremonti has explored previously in his solo work with A Dying Machine's Take You With Me, before playing around with a similar style in Alter Bridge surroundings. Again, this experimenting is no bad thing as the band still manage to make it work.
As the penultimate track on the album, a lot of darker, heavier songs than the norm come before this song. Just in case you forget how ridiculously high Myles Kennedy's range stretches however, Tear Us Apart is here to remind you, as he effortlessly makes almost unbelievable notes believable.
