Alter Bridge - Walk The Sky: Every Song Ranked From Worst To Best
8. Forever Falling
After singing solo for parts of Words Darker Than Their Wings on ABIII and taking over as lead vocalist for Waters Rising on Fortress, there was some disappointment when The Last Hero featured no leads vocals from Mark Tremonti at all. Walk the Sky made up for this however, with Forever Falling.
Beginning with the finger picked intro reminiscent of Cry of Achilles, and the thunderous riff that would make Avenged Sevenfold blush, this song has Tremonti written all over it. Yet it was actually Myles' idea to have his bandmate take lead on the vocals after the producer wasn't happy with the verse during recording.
The lyrics on this track are incredibly dark, and possibly the most disturbing on the entire album, detailing the subject's consistent failure and fall into a pit of depression. Alter Bridge truly know how to tell a deep story through their songs, and Forever Falling is a prime example.
