Amy Winehouse Found Dead At Home In London

Talented, wayward music star's death being treated as "Unexplained"...

The hugely talented and successful recording artist Amy Winehouse has been found dead at her flat in North London, according to reports from Sky News. She was just 27 - the same age which infamously saw the deaths of Brian Jones, Jimi Hendrix, Janis Joplin, Jim Morrison and Kurt Cobain. Her final act as an artist was the widely reported disaster of the appearance in Belgrade that lead to her cancelling her European tour, a cruel legacy for someone who possessed huge and unique talent, and whose album Back in Black will rightly be considered one of the greatest modern albums. Winehouse's father Mitch Winehouse - who is currently on a jazz tour of the USA, and was at time of reporting unaware of his daughter's death - has recently eerily spoken of his concerns that Amy would die if she didn't kick her habits, and tragically his morbid prediction has now come to pass. While it was believed for a while that Amy was winning her battle to overcome her problems, last month's appearance in Serbia confirmed for many that the stories were wrong. Police are currently treating the singer's death as unexplained, though rumours of her demons returning have already appeared across the wide media response to her death. Whether it was her demons that killed her, we do not yet know, but what is unfortunately difficult to ignore is that the tragic 27 Club now has a new member. As a tribute, here is Amy in her heyday, and how she should be remembered: http://youtu.be/lIefMYBV7mg
