Anthrax were not only pioneers of the thrash scene as members of the illustrious Big 4, but they were also innovative with the release of their very own heavy metal rap hybrid that could be classed as the first ever, I€™m the Man. Originally an EP, it€™s unprecedented success with both sides of the fence led to their collaboration with Public Enemy and their infamous hip hop hit, Bring The Noize. Now, although Aerosmith beat them to the punch in the mainstream arena with their own rocked-up collaboration with Run DMC, it was this moment when previous musical foes rap and metal put aside their differences and their weapons of mass musical destruction to come together in an unprecedented meeting of genres.
