9. Why'd You Only Call Me When You're High?
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6366dxFf-Os Ah, now this is where it's at. This song should induce a song-long foot-tapping syndrome, as it's much more fleshed out than the previous three tracks. Groovier and sexier than practically any track on this album, the second single takes a chilled vibe and channels their hookiest chorus on this album. AM may be firmly dug in pop roots, but 'Why'd You Only Call Me When You're High?' is the summation of those influences and efforts. RATING: 4.5/5 10. Snap Out Of It
Piano-driven and very snappy, this track feels floaty and light, with hand claps aplenty. Turner's vocals shine a bit on this track, while the band's total contribution seems so miniscule. Sure, Alex Turner's presence is felt more than any other member throughout this album, and that's because Turner is usually the one in the spotlight, but AM also seems so much of a solo effort. At most points, you could imagine most tracks being on a Alex Turner solo album, which is never a good compliment or remark. You don't want a fifth album to sound like a solo album - that spells out terrible and awful things. RATING: 3/5
