Arctic Monkeys: Ranking Their Albums From Worst To Best

3. Suck It and See

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=q_ioNeYsdO0 Lyrically speaking, Suck it and See is the band's best album by far. With this album, their most recent, Alex Turner has been able to hone his wit and lyrical sensibility into something that can be funny, heartbreaking and emotionally resonant all at the same time. The typical indie rock song structures of Humbug have been given a streamlined feel through more cohesive instrumentation that really sets Suck it and See into a catagory all it's own. To say this is the most polished album that Arctic Monkeys have made yet is really only scratching the surface. Here, the songs are sung and played from an emotional standpoint that also makes Suck it and See their most mature record, while staying true to their more punk rock roots. The songs vary from delivering on more of the smooth sound that is on display in Humbug to breaking into more edgy material like the band's first two albums. In the way it blends their signature style with a more polished approach it is the most instantly likable album that Arctic Monkeys have made so far. Key tracks- She's Thunderstorms, Don't Sit Down 'Cause I've Moved Your Chair and Suck it and See

My favorite movies are Before Sunrise, Pulp Fiction, 2001: A Space Odyssey, Alien and Her so don't be surprised to see those pop up in my writing from time to time. I'm currently in school for Journalism/English and I have an obsession with all things cinematic on the side.
