8. Help! (1965)
Best Song: Help! Worst Song: Dizzy Miss Lizzy The Soundtrack to the second Beatles Movie. Opens with the title track "Help!" Where Lennon sings about the downsides of fame and how he feels like a prisoner. A real personal song for Lennon about his struggle to cope. The album is filled with tight harmonies where McCartney and Harrison back Lennon in the doo wop styled "You're Going to Lose That Girl". McCartney shines in the catchy "The Night Before" and "Another Girl" both surfer rock tracks." Ticket to Ride" is a joined effort by Lennon and McCartney which shows them exploring a heavier sound in guitars. McCartney even branches out of his comfort zone in his first solo single "Yesterday", one of the most famous compositions in the Beatles catalog, gives a look into McCartney's doubts and regrets in life so far, a truly poetic song written by a wise beyond his years McCartney. Lennon sings about his relationship woes in "It's Only Love" and "You've Got to Hide Your Love" away, which critics claim is not about Lennon himself, but the band's manager Brian Epstein who was gay. Harrison wrote two songs "I Need You" and "You Like Me Too Much," which were both strong enough to make the cut on this gem of an album.
