6. Magical Mystery Tour (1967)
Best Song: I Am The Walrus Worst Song: Your Mother Should Know The soundtrack to the bands third feature film. The movie of the same name was a psychedelic road trip film, with the band taking a bus of people on a magical mystery tour. A rather strange film, but the mini film clips for each track are fantastic in their own weird way. More of an EP than album due to it only containing eight tracks, Magical Mystery tour includes some of the best Beatles songs to date. The first of the nonsense and gibberish themed songs by John features I Am the Walrus based on Louis Carroll poetry, which Lennon put his own twist on it and added his own jargon to this psychedelic gem. Aggravated by a music critic who Lennon heard was analyzing Beatles song to find their real meaning, prompted him to write I Am the Walrus, to which he was quoted saying for critics to figure out what this song means. Feeling nostalgic about his childhood hang out Lennon penned Strawberry Fields Forever, a now famous park in Liverpool near Lennon's home growing up in Liverpool. The famous opposite song Hello Goodbye and very descriptive Penny Lane paints a picture of a bunch of characters.
