Bring Me The Horizon: Ranking Every Album Worst To Best

6. There Is A Hell Believe Me I've Seen It, There Is A Heaven Let's Keep It A Secret

There is a Hell was BMTH’s first move away the “core” sub-genres of their early years. The songs were slower, occasionally had an almost psychedelic vibe, and now we had some clean vocals introduced to the band’s catalogue. There were still heavy songs and great riffs, but it wasn’t as raw as the band’s first two releases.

This album was a statement that BMTH weren’t going to limit themselves to what listeners expect, but the early experimentation also gave off the impression they weren’t too sure what they were doing. The music wasn’t bad, it just fell a little flat. There were some standouts on there, such as It Never Ends and Alligator Blood, however these flopped in comparison to the singles from previous releases.

There is a Hell absolutely had to happen, however.

Listening to the album now, you can hear the groundwork being laid for some far superior albums that followed. They may have missed the mark on this first attempt, but Bring Me more than made up for it.
